Map Quest IV
From the 1930s, we have some novel maps in the Religion Collection and perhaps the most delightful map we could find.
A 1932 titled “Presbyterian Missions to the Indian” shows the location and type of mission across the country and the number of Native American inhabitants in each state. Michigan has one Ojibway mission church.
Another 1932 map shows Detroit’s twenty three thrift gardens.
This illustrated map shows all the Catholic churches in the city in 1935.
One of the most whimsical maps in our collection is on the cover of this magazine put out by the Hotel Webster Hall in 1936. “All Roads Lead to the Coolest Spot in Town.”
